Anyone have a nitrous kit?

I was watching a few races last night with my friends and this 4 door Cavy looked pretty stock besides his exhaust ran against a Spec-V and he sprayed by about 3rd gear, seemed pretty sick so it got me thinking.

Anyone running nitrous on their Cavy here? I just wanted a rough estimate of how much to expect for an install. The kits are anywhere from 500-600 and probably takes what 4-5 hours to install? Hoping to pull it off for well under a grand. Any comments on reliabilty running it on a stock motor? I'd never been into nitrous before but it seems like it'd be fun to have a little giggle juice for the rare occasion of a punk trying to own me.

Re: Anyone have a nitrous kit?

I wouldnt try to put a large shot of nitrous in your car because its not worth fucking up your engine. I think your car could handle a 50 shot ok but i wouldnt go any higher. I dont have nitrous on my car yet but have been planning on getting it, so ive been looking into what the cavi could handle. With the price it all depends on what you get but dont look on spending less than at least 600 for the kit.

Re: Anyone have a nitrous kit?

My car handles a 75 shot fine. They said I could even go higher without having to worry but I didn't want to risk it. All I needed was new wires and 2 step colder plugs.

Don't expect to get it all for "well under a grand." Whole setup with parts and labor TO HAVE IT DONE RIGHT ran about 1,200.

Thanks alot for the info. I think i'll stick with a 50 shot although a 75 is tempting. $1200 is fine I just mean all the parts I need under a grand, labor varies in my area so I expected to run anywhere from $1000 to $1500 depending where I go to.

Re: Anyone have a nitrous kit?

if your paying someone to install a nitrous system, you really shouldnt be using it. Nitrous in the wrong hands can destroy and engine in seconds. And if you dont even feel confident enough to install your own, good luck not blowing up your engine cause you have no idea what your getting yourself into.

a nitrous kit isnt that hard to install, dont you have any friends with a garage you can borrow or a driveway?

I don't really see the reasoning in that.

It's a button.

A wet kit is pretty safe, I know how it works, but I don't want to go through the trouble of installing it when I don't have access to the tools or a garage and would rather have someone whose done 100+ installs do it perfectly. Plus they gave me experienced advice on when and how to use it, and now I have a friendly and familiar place to go for refills.
