cruisin with the classics

well lets set the scene
me and a couple of mates decided to take our associated ladies (both the mechanical and the biological variety) for a long cruise to a small town a few hundred km's away. We just thought we'd stetch the legs of the cars and have a bit of fun doing so. the roads are good, they r clean and wide with plenty of room to push our cars a bit.

so iv just fin doing some work on the latest z, mainly a few bolt ons and a respray (may i add that i hate rust with a passion) so i got a chance to take her for a good spin. Mate 1 is in his supra sz and mate 2 his R33. (both pretty much stock)

We r driving for about an hour pushing the cars a bit cruising, sitting around 130 most of the way, of course racing and having some fun.
It was only for the most part a 2 lane road but it opened into 3 when an overtaking lane popped up. so we all line up at 60 and i honk down. we all took off and at about 100 the supra's nose was at my door, i was slighly behind the skyline and each gear the line pulled on us a bit but the supra and the zx stayed pretty much even till we all pulled out at about just below 200kph.

well as we pulled out and started to reduce our speed we passed a gravel car park on the right. as we were focused on the road we didnt see the cars that where parked there, but as we later found out it was some kinda classic exotic outing.
we had just reached sane speeds and slowed to 80kph to take it easy the rest of the way there, when in my rear view i saw LOTS of fast moving cars comming up on us. soon we had pre 70's lambo's, jaguars, ferrari's and a tvr surrounding our imports. man that was cool the combined noise was awsome! and the howl from those old exotics just sends shivers down ya spine! we all gave each other the thumbs up and cruised till we reached york which was, by coincidence their destination also.

The day ended with us joining in with their classic cruise bbq, and spent all afternoon checking out their cars! omg those things r beautiful, so well looked after and stuff. We all decided to come along again in the future and exchanged emails and numbers. Althought they kindly refused to race any of their cars (understandably), we all got rides in a few of the cars b4 we all curised home in a group.

we thought our cars where nice, omg those things are sex on wheels! i reken if i start saving now......hmmmm maybe when im 50...
but an awsome end to an awsome day!

im still pumped now, so had to share

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

rice(er): you had to make another gay ass smiley face post.

back on topic, it's pretty sweet that you have a 300zx. the race would have been complete if there was a 3KGT VR4 next to you guys. think about it: 300zx, toyota supra, nissan skyline, mitsubishi 3000GT vr4. minus the rx7, these are some of the most iconic japanese supercars from the 90's. good race, nice car, and nice post.

Re: cruisin with the classics

Damn that would have been a blast. That sort of thing has happened to me but with american classics. You dont get to see lambos and such over here that much.

That sounds like such a sweet time. I think I'd cum in my pants if I saw that many sweet cars on the highway at the same time.
