Auto to Standard Transmission

I'm in the process of changing a 1.6 automatic into a 5-speed 4 x 4. However, I'm having a rough time finding a flywheel that will match up with my 1.6 engine. Is the back of the crankshaft for a 5-speed a different size than the crank for an auto? Most salvage people say these items should match up, yet they won't. HELP!
