I've always thought that the odometer would read as high as 999,999 miles. Some people say, however, that it stops at 299,999. Has anyone ever heard of a vehicle getting 999,999 miles? And if so, what happens if you reach one million? Does it start back over to 000,000 or does it just stop counting altogether?

Re: How high will the odometer read?
my cousins roomate has a 90 or 91 fullsize chevy with 318k on it, so that truck didnt roll at 299,999 but when he bought it, my cousin showed me the o fraud, when your o rolls over, or when you turn it back, there is a line that gets burned into the wheels so people know, hey, ive got this many miles plus a rollover... although i dont know where they quit, and no never 999999 miles on a truck, but my grandpa claims his flat head 8 had close to 500k on it when he junked it
