vtec problems

I have a vafc on my lude but lately I don't think my vtec have been turning on, its kind of hard to tell becuase i'm boosting but how could I check if its working, bk i think that maybe the vafc is not working since i bougth it used of a guys that lately has been doing some shady stuff in his shop. but how could i test it?

there are some multimeter tests you can do on the vtec solenoid - as well as the vtec pressure switch - to ensure that they are still functioning... you can also hook up an oil pressure sensor with a long line into the cabin and heh, go for a rip take it above the 5200, or whateva you have set on your vafc and see what oil pressure reading you get - check that against helms. my guess is - whoever had the lude prior with the vafc probably had it set to some Ridicoulously low engagment point - and the solenoid has since burnt out... but that's just a guess too. finally you can remove the solenoid and check the vtec filter there too...perhaps it's clogged (doubtful but you never know).
