Question 96 CD PLayer

I have a 96 Blazer LS two door and just recently the stock cd player quit playing cd's. Everything else works fine but it won't play any kind fo cd and after it it says error is spits the cd out. Any ideas of what is going on or is my deck toast.

Once the factory CD player starts acting up, it's pretty much over. It's also far more than it's worth to replace it, unless you can find a used unit. The most economical way to to is with an aftermarket unit, which is not only going to be less expensive but in most cases far better quality than the factory.

Yes, definitely do that before buying anything. I'm nearly ashamed that I forgot to say that!

Remember that when you change the head nuit, you will have to change the speakers to if you want any decent sound at all.

The stock factory speakers are matched 6 ohm and when you install a standard 4 ohm aftermarket headunit, you will not get the same volume seeing the resistance is higher than the aftermarket head unit is made for.

The stock speakers really do not have much definition, anyway, and if you want good sound they are always the first thing that needs to be changed.
