Re: what are some common fiero problems
Carnutt pretty much covered it, except the '84 4-cylinder connecting rods. Avoid '84s... Wathc clutch forks on later 4-cylinder cars, too. They tend to bend, making it impossible to disengage the clutch.
P-bodies are GREAT cars. Tough and reasonably good handling. Only American car ever built to Swedish safety standards (at the time of production). |

Re: what are some common fiero problems

Re: what are some common fiero problems
I forgot to mention bad slave cylinders on manual transmissions, and bad torque converter lock-up solinoids on the atomatics. Actually, for17+ year old cars, I think they function pretty well. Personally, I'd stick to the v6 for the extra power, and I believe the four cylinder has nylon (?) timing gears that tend to disentigrate.

Re: what are some common fiero problems
Quote:
Given the fact I have just purchased a F40 Ferarri replica and am working on coversion, my left headlight drive side does not work, is it always the motor? Or is there by chance a left and right fuse as with many foreign cars which I am more familiar with. This beast has an LT1, so are any of you familiar with issues when powered by V-8? Also, any upgrades on hood release issues, doesn't want to work no matter how hard it is pulled. Thanks, Mike http://Offshore-Wealth.com |
