Servic Engine Soon Light
My Service Engine Soon light just came on today and the only thing I've noticed about the car is that it doesn't idle very smoothly right after you start it but it does settle down in just a minute or so. Also today while I was driving the air conditioner fan was turned on high but it would lose some of its blowing power for a second then come back up. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be going on? I just bought this car and I love it but I hate that I might have to start replacing parts before making my first payment! Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!

Re: Servic Engine Soon Light
Take the car to autozone and they will scan it for free. Good luck and welcome to AF

I had a similar issue on my 98 FB about two weeks after I bought it. Took it back to the dealership, and they told me it was simply spark plugs and the ignition coil...my car would hesitate and jerk while accelerating (not horribly bad, but enough to definately notice) and it had a hard time coming out of 1st. |

Re: Servic Engine Soon Light
Another tip- I had rough idling (it's just the factory 'rumble' I think), up until I started putting 93 octane and high performance oil in it. Even though it's only a V6, I saw minor power gains and smoother shifting. Also, since yours is an auto (I assume from the problem you describe) make SURE to get your auto tranny fluid changed- it'll cost about 80$, and has to be done about every 30,000 miles, but it'll save you much in the long run and you're tranny will run smoother almost immediately after you have the flush/fill done- any Valvoline can do it.
