rough takeoff

It is a 1997 POntiac Bonneville SE. The takeoff is rough; and I can feel the roughness thru the accelerator. When I get to about 30 mph it smooths out.

Re: rough takeoff

i had the same problem, try checking your plug wires, make sure they are all pressed into place. Also you might want to check your fuel filter, if its a chuggy feeling it could be because the engine isnt getting enough fuel. If all those check out, replace the plug wires.

Re: rough takeoff

I agree, if it's been a while since you've tuned her up, do so (including plugs, wires, fuel filter and PCV valve) and see if it quits. Don't believe the 100k claims on plug life, as they are not true.
