I'm on my second 98LT 4x4 and the suspension doesn't seem as tight as my old one. There is considerable lean when cornering, butt sag when accelerating and nose dive when braking. Also, the whole truck sits about an inch or two lower than the old one. I'm sure they offered different suspension packages and it seems mine has the 'super mushy' one.

I guess my question is, could the springs be different than my other 98 and if so, where could I acquire some firmer ones? I'm not looking to "add a leaf" or go super stiff I just would like a more responsive ride. Also, I've read many posts about shocks and I'm not against replacing them. It’s just that my problem isn't really a too much bounce kind of thing, but more a lack of support.

Have you tried getting new shocks all the way around? Thats what it sounds like to me the problem is.

Replace the shocks if they are still stock and replace the sway bar end links and sway bar bushings.

Mine is really tight.

Also, remember, you are driving a 2 1/2 ton SUV, not a mustang.

Also, the LT comes with a premium suspension for a better ride.

Thanks LT. Yes, I know its not a Mustang. As I said I'm comparing it to the 98 LT I replaced, which handled much better. I'm happier replacing the shocks, sway bar bushings, etc. than having to worry about the springs...I just wanted to make sure I was replacing things in the right order...thank God for the Blazer forum!

I changed my 98LT to high performance shocks and I have no sway or lean or anything unless I push it way to hard, stays as straight as can be. I like the Edelbrock Shocks I put in except for the price tag and the too harsh of a ride on the street, offroading is fine, but regular pot holes are hell!
