chevy tahoe vibration

my 2000 chevy tahoe seems to run great on the highway but if i stop at red light or stop sign it starts skaking like crazy and quits as soon as i accelerate. i have been told it is the torque converter or the tcc solenoid.could it be the engine? i had a diagnostics test run on the engine and transmission and everything showe to be working.anyone have any ideas
