tires

i have a 1972 lemans, and i was wondering what are the biggest size tires i can fit on it. i have been looking at the bf goodrich 295/50/15 for the back with cragar ss rims...would i be able to fit them on my car?

I waited for someone more knowledgeable in this particular area to speak up. No one has... Well, I had a '70 GTO for many years. It is pretty much the same in the wheelwells as yur '72 LeMans. The biggest tires I ever put on it were 2.55/60-15s. That was on an 8" wheel. Got a bit of rub on hard corners, mostly on the frame side, not the body.
