Manual transmission pops out of gear when decelerating. Shifter seems to move around excessively but all else looks good? 112k miles. Any ideas?

Re: Manual trans pops out of gear....
there is a spring that attaches to the bottom of the shifter that always rust out and falls of.very easy to replace.after this repair and thefault is still there.the synchro set and cone will need to be replaced for that gear that it pops out of .always best to state model, year for correct replies.

Clunky automatic shifting
Quote:
On a related note, I test drove two 2001-2003 Outbacks and they seem to be clunky in the automatic shifting (both up and down shifting). Is this typical of OUtbacks? Thanks. |
