Question z32 brake question

I know the z32 brake conversion is a good thing to do. But is the rear brake conversion really that hard? What happens if you only put the front z32 brakes only? Im guessing you get more braking power in the front. But if your gonna drift then its no good cause you need good rear brakes, right? So is it a good thing to change the front brakes only or not? I think someone here has the front brakes converted already

Re: z32 brake question

another reason for asking this question was that im still waiting for my cuz to give my rims for the front, but he doesnt come by 4 lug rims very often, and says the he could get me some 5 lug faster, so im thinking of getting the front brake concversion just to get my free wheels faster. MUAHAHAHAH!

usually just putting the fronts on are fine, when you hit the brakes, most of the weight shifts to the front. that is why even on the most expensive sport cars, the front brakes are always more powerful then the ones on the back.

Re: z32 brake question

btw im not sure which brake conversion you are getting but you need the hub conversion too if you want 5lug wheels... most z brake kits have the rotors redrilled to fit your 4lug hub

Ummm... Nissan took that into account when they biased the stock sliding single pistons... 4 piston fixed might screw that up just a touch.

All the people I talk to say that when you do the Z conversion at all 4 corners the car will actually turn with the brakes rather than the usual pig understeer.

my deciscion on wether or not to do all 4 will depend on whats avalible at the time... however at the least I'll get silkroads Big Rear Rotor upgrade

if you are going to be drifting and incorporating braking techniques, it is not a good idea to upgrade them unevenly, but for normal driving it is ok to do the fronts first.

Re: z32 brake question

I am in the process of my front swap right now and I have PBR pads for the front Z32 calipers, so I went ahead and ordered some PBR pads for my stock rear calipers. This should hopefully help out until I do the rear swap.

Re: z32 brake question

so its good to upgrade at least the front, but not good for drifting. And now i know why the rear brakes are diffiult, because of the e-brake assembly. Thanks for the info. I guess ill just stick to my oem brakes for now till i get enough money to let someone else do the brakes for me.

Re: z32 brake question

So are you guys saying that if I am a weekend drifter, then I should not do the Z32 front brake conversion? What if I have the Z32 MC? Is it still going to have a negative effect on my braking drifts?

Re: z32 brake question

OK ...OK...OK...

4 Drifting u don't need 4 piston brakes... hell all u need is an LSD, the brake drift is just a TAP on the brake as u Turn into the turn...

now... i had stop tech lines, rotors and ceramic (proj u ) pads, and a new MC. I stopped just as good as my Z32 right now!

the only diff, is that the Z32 pads didn't crack! yes, my stock single piston cracked my pad and warped my rotor every 3 month or so...
the Z32 4 piston give an even ware on the pad and the rotor dozn't worp as easily (i just installed the Z32, and after 1 track day, its all good still )

keep in mined i got my Z32 for $80, (rotors lines (steel) and the calipers ) so that's why i did it.

4 drifting, all u need is a BRICK suspension, and lsd . don't waste $ on other stuff, u will crash u know!

didn't u see how my car looks like, it looks like shit, duct tape, zip tie, bent intercooler...etc.

in conclusion, stock brakes are good w the right pads and steel lines, u r good.
