Still having it....!!!

ok, so it started with the sputter....
I have now given the car plugs, wires, coil, air filter, lower intake manifold gasket, and moved injector from the 6th cylinder to another one, and I still have the P0306. I am at the point (doing a compression test tonight) where I think that it is electrical. Is there a good way to test an injector wire to see if it is the cause (broken but sort of working)? other than that, I am at a loss....

I agree with the fact that it is probably electrical. There is a tester available, don't know if you can rent one or not to test the electrical connection to the injector. It will also test the injector. I would bet you have a bad or broken wire on number 6 that is causing the entire problem. One thing you might try is to simply purchase a new connector and wire it in. It may be something as simple as a bad connection at the injector connector.

Another way of doing it is, pull number four. Check reading your getting there. Then compare with number 6. They should read the same.

noid lights are cheap. You plug it into the harness for each injector and watch for the light to flash the flash patterns should be identical for each injector.

Re: Re: Still having it....!!!

well gentlemen, I thank you very much for all of your help! I fixed it, and I am elated! I went through all of the testing I could think of last night,(got a noid light, and some wiring schematics) and I couldn't find anything! So I took the plug out again, and it turned out that when I replaced the lower intake manifold gasket, and put the car back together, I checked the plug one more time, well, I had broke it when I put it back in. I replaced it again last night, and I have a beautifully running 3800 again!

Re: Still having it....!!!

The simple repairs are the ones that frustrate us the most. We are often looking for the more complicated solution and forget to check the obvious. Glad to hear your ride is back in good running condition.
