92 Wrangler died and won't start HELP

I am a jeep newbie, as of 2 months ago. I was driving along and my jeep lost all power and stalled. I tried cranking it, and it would turn over but not catch. I checked spark, thats fine. I even shot a little starting fluid in, and it started for a second and then died. Sounds like fuel, but I have a half tank and I can hear the pump prime when I turn the key on.
Any suggestions???

Thanks, any help is much appreciated!!

Deffinantley not the alternator. Did you actually check the fuel pump and filter? Either could be clogged. It comes down to the following...
Failure to feed properly, Failure to breath properly, or failure to spark properly . Failure to spark is easy to eliminate, and you have. It might not be failure to feed, it could be an gasket letting in to much air.

Still won't start

I know there is spark, I know there is gas in the tank, and I hear the fuel pump run. The fuel filter is only 2 months old. And the fuel rail has good pressure. Maybe an ecu problem? Something causing the injectors to not spray? Any thoughts??

Thanks!

There are alot of things that could be wrong, just remember not to get tunnel vision, and look at the whole picture. Grab a Haynes manual from your local auto parts store, It will go through the whole trouble shooting process. It will also tell you how to fix it step by step.

I had the same problem myself and it turned out to be the Crankshaft Position Sensor, which is on the driver's side on the transmission housing. If it comes off or is loose, it will not deliver a charge to the ignition coil. You could be driving down the road and it suddenly turn off. Good luck!
