Finally !!!

Well I just got my exhaust today. Flowmaster super 40 . It sounds great and am on the way closer to better performance of my truck. What should be next ? I modified the factory intake so I guess a tuner is next huh.

Jethro has it right. Run from every handheld tuner out there, nothing comes even close to Nelson. GET THE NELSON!!! Even better, go see Nelson if you can.

Re: Finally !!!

San Antonio, TX, where everything needs to run better so you can get to the other side of town since it's so da@# far......j/k

Once you get it no matter what you mod he will work with you. You can't find a more knowledgable/nicer guy when it comes to modifying GM trucks. He has connections with a lot of performance people.

Re: Finally !!!

i would love to have him personally install it and fine tune everything, but i think the drive from Philly is a little much for me. Im almost dreading my drive to Charelston SC next month to visit my brother. but i definetly want that tune!!

Well - at some point yet this year - I'm going to drive from WI to TX for a Nelson tune. Wester's (in Canada) is also very good i'm told. The link below is for both.

I originally planned to mail order my Nelson Tune - but have now decided - I'm going to spend the money, time, and effort to drive there instead. Either way - I'm told my truck will benefit from it.

Re: Finally !!!

Blnderwizard went the mail route, outside of his "Georgia Bad Gas" issue(Why does that sound personal?) I don't think he will complain at all about the money he spent. Allen won't disipoint you....

Re: Finally !!!

Oh yeah, Allen is great as far as his tunes go. He got me hooked up quickly. The original tune he sent me had a pinging issue, and he said that the grade of gas we are getting here might not be quite the same as what he's used to out there. So, he retarded the timing slightly, and sent me a new unit out at no charge (he even paid for shipping). All in all I think it was money well spent. I certainly would like to take the truck to him in person, but his house is almost 1100 miles from my house (I live right near Atlanta). Anyway, if you got the ~$400, by all means get a tuned PCM from him.

If you've got a big drive coming up, get the tune beforehand. It will save you $$$ in gas.
