Brake/ABS light came on??

I have a 99 Cavalier Z22 with a 2.2L. It has 101,000KM on it and has given us no problems at all with of regular maintenence kept up.
A few days ago the ABS and brake light popped up on the dashboard for no reason?? I would like to know if any of you other Cavalier owners have had the same problem? I would take in in to get scoped for the price of that and the price of a sensor if that what it is the dealer will probably stroke me! The problem has in no way effected the performance of the car.
Please reply if you have had the same problem and what possibly could be the cure.

cheers, D

Re: Brake/ABS light came on??

You need to have car hooked up and check for the codes. That is the first place to start.

Re: Brake/ABS light came on??

check the sensors at the wheels, sometimes they can come undone or move. Having one of those unplugged can turn that light on.
