need for speed!!!
OK, I have an 89 Formula 350, and I got spanked by a 97 Trans Am this weekend. This is not cool. How can I get some more power to beat some of the big boys?
Also, the car runs awesome on premium unleaded and 2 bottles of octane booster, but with premium unleaded alone, there is signifigant lag time when I stomp the gas pedal. What's up??? |

Re: need for speed!!!
Octane booster doesn't do you ANY good on a stock car.
How bad did you get beat by this LT1 Trans Am? You should have been fairly close to a stock LT1 T/A. Not as fast, but not getting smoked. I think you are just thinking that the octane booster is doing you good. The only thing you need higher octane for is higher compression, or boost. Not for your car. Good luck, I recommend opening up the motor a bit. Intake and exhaust. Let her breath would be the first steps.

Re: need for speed!!!
Swap in an LS1 first, then add I/H/E.

You could always take the road less traveled and grab up a Grand National Turbo
Nothing else can get burned so quickly into the minds of those you dominate when they hear the turbos screaming down the remains of your exhaust pipe under full burn...

Re: need for speed!!!
get new gears for the rear-end.. won't do anything to your power but it'll let you do more with it
