Hey all
I finally got my rims. 4 Enkei (sp?) dark silver, 6 spoke, 18in rims with low profile tires yesterday. They're used, and I bought them off a friend, so I got them for $385. Tires are in great shape too. They came off a 3000gt show car! Ill post pics of them when they're on the car. Also have to be cleaned up a little. Now when I tried to install them this morning, they fit perfectly. Only problem is, the bolts that come off the rotor that the lug nuts go onto, are now too short. The rim is actually an inch thicker that the stock 15in I got on now. Do they make entensions? Then, how do I install it? Where can I pick some up too? Im getting a brake job done in a few, so should I just wait until then? What to do? Thanks

Re: Got Rims!... Bolts too short
How do I install them then? Do I have to take off the rotors? I think it'll be best just to get it done with the brakes all at once.

Re: Got Rims!... Bolts too short
u might wanna look into maybe tuner lug nuts cause my wheels are thicker than my studs but my lug nuts fit inside my wheel, look into it might save you some time and some $$....just go to a wheel shop and ask for tuner lugs and see if they work

Re: Got Rims!... Bolts too short
yes the tuner lugs fit inside the rim you would be better off with those or your gonna buy new bolts to put on there and they are gonna stick way out and look so fucked up,,,id try the tuner lugs before you go with the new bolts trust me

In some cases tuner lugs are better the regular lugs. IMO

Re: Got Rims!... Bolts too short
I think everyone is assuming that the problem is with the stock lug nuts. Are they too thick to fit inside the wheel's lug recess? If so, new nuts are cheaper than longer studs. Otherwise, if you can purchase longer studs (i dont know because ive never heard of this problem), you will be able to buy new ones.

Re: Got Rims!... Bolts too short
Yeah, that is the problem. The rim is thicker than the stock rims, so the stud coming from the rotor is inside the new rim. The stock nuts wont fit in the hole on the new rim to reach to the studs. Everyone assumed right. Sorry.
I didn't have any plans. I just need to get these new wheels onm b.c. the old tires are shot to hell. No tread, uneven wear all around, and bald spots! Damn handbrake. lol Ill try to find some nuts tomorrow. That came out wrong. Ill see what I can find. Ill probably have to take a rim with to see if they'll fit in the hole. Ill get back to ya all. Thanks

Re: Re: Got Rims!... Bolts too short
Ok you said that the rims were Enkei's? and the nuts dont fit inside the holes where the studs reside? Correct. Ive acturally had a set of rims from enkei that had the same problem, I never went with the tuner lugs though, but the problem was there was a special set of lugs that were shanked at the end so they would fit into the holes in the rim and grab more of the stock stud then regular lug nuts. Another problem that arose was that the lug nuts that were specially made for those were dicontinued because of stripping problems with the key. They had to be special ordered and set me back a good 100$ for just the lugs. Hoping thats not your problem you might want to look into it by getting the model number off the rims and calling Enkei Direct.

Re: Got Rims!... Bolts too short
Damn, that would definitly suck. I'll have to do some research on these bad-boys. I hope thats not the problem neither. Where did u special order them from?
