Keyless entry / Alarm - 98 Civic
I give up.
My keys were lost the other night and my other remote wasn't programmed to me 98 Civic. I had to open the door with me key, then pull the fuse to the security unit so that the car would stop beeping and the ignition would work. Now, I can't program the remote because every time I put the fuse back in, the alarm registers and the radio shuts down. I tried disconnecting all power to the security unit in the hopes that it would reset itself, but no good. When I try to program with the fuse out, the radio is still on, but there's no power to the grey box. What can I possibly do short of bringing it to my dealer? |

Well, if you (and/or your neighbors) can stand the noise long enough, it seems that the alarm disarms and resets itself after it goes through its cycle enough times. Because I kept pulling the fuse out, I don't know exactly how many times it has to repeat its cycle, but if I had to guess I'd say 5 or six times. Also, I had the door open when it finished up. I don't know if that makes a difference, but at that point, I was able to program my remote with no problem.
