I have a 1996 Contour. My two main brake lights aren't working, the third light works fine. I've changed the bulbs and the fuse. My signal and hazard lights work, its just the brake lights that won't come on.
Any help or suggestions out there before I get pulled over? |

Kathy,
Did you ever get an answer? I have the exact same issue. Checked bulbs, fuses looked at wiring diagrams and no luck yet. |

Searching contour.org is your friend.
Sounds like you need a new MFS. Click the link for discussion and replacement. Theres a step by step diagram from autozone thats posted in that link as well. http://www.contour.org/ubbthreads/sh...ue#Post1049207

Re: Brake light problem
contour.org is indeed my friend. . .although it wasn't the multifunction switch. The last post in the thread and another similar one both replaced MF switches only to find the B pin in the connector was charred (New MF switch not needed). Just finished taking off my MF switch and sure enough, B connection. Brakes lights are working now.
