Code P0404 fix???

'00 Yukon XL 5.3l SES light with diagnostic code reading of P0404:

"The PCM has determined that the control circuit for the exhaust gas recirculation system is out of range for the current engine operating conditions."

Any ideas on fix/troubleshoot? I replaced the EGR valve less than a year ago.

No one has any ideas/experience with this? Making an appointment to have it diagnosed, but if anyone has ideas before I take it in I'd appreciate them.
