Well this whole weekend i was messing around racing my friends car and what a weekend that was =p. First off the only reason why i wanted to race my friends is because i want to TEST out how fast my car was and to see what level my car is at. First off my friends 93' integra LS with full bodykit, 18" rims, 12's sub sound system, full cat, headers, intake.. he whooped me. But he didnt beat me as bad as a 4door grand prix with a super charger =\. Anywho we was at a rolling start and i took off first and had the lead untill he threw his into 3rd gear and thats when he cought up slowly and left. He didnt fly past me too fast but kinda slowly left me. So i lost to that 93 Teg. The next car which is my friends 01' civic with short air intake, exhaust and NO headers, full bodykit, stock rims. The first race we was on a rolling start... i took off first and he was about 1 fender behind me untill he crept up on me and my front was to his rear bumper. I was still in 3rd gear untill i reached 5k my car slowly crept past him and i was ahead about 1/2 fender and that was it for him. by the time i past him i went from 3rd gear to 4th and he couldnt no longer catch up. Second race... same civic on a dead stop.. we both took off and i was ahead on the launch and about 10secs later he past me and took me so basically i lost. So now the conclusion on the level of my car... as you can see the mods that i have... im basically right under a 01' civic EX. Imagine if the civic didnt have a fullbodykit and have headers =P. So now i know that my car is REALLY SLOW!!!! =( And i came to another Conclusion that when im on a rolling start you always will have the head start... untill 6 secs later thats when you get smoked. And basically im stuck with a 420a RS and im guessing the only way i can go is to build my motor with a turbo. So to all of you guys out there that have a RS and similar mods as i do w/o turbo... this is where you basically are. Right under a 01" civic EX and that pretty damn sad. So anyone have any comments, suggestions, or questions??? Please feel free to share!

yeah.. umm i cold have told you that you are slow, there are basicly no mods you can do to that rs that will make it fast. Even a few thousand dollar turbo kit would only get it up to about my level.... like low 15's and thats not shit either... if you spend thousands of dollars on a car and run 15's you are a sad sad boy.
sell it, buy a turbo, put $800 into it and run mid 14's, or just get a hell of a lot of NOS

So its better off my putting another 3g's into my car and thats almost basically buying another Gst or gsx but with a fully built motor. If i do get a GSX thats like.. another extra 1 or 2g's that i have to put in for turbo upgrades and that will cost me way more money then to Build my RS. But yeah thats the only option i have =p. 2.2 Stroker with a fully built and ported motor with a big ass gt35 turbo -=P

Basically, yeah, not a whole lot you can do to the 420A to make it a rocket. Turbo is your best bet.
I hope that when you bought the car to begin with, you test drove it and realized that it sucked total ass in the power category. Unless you feel like pouring more money into your slow ass car, just give up. You chose the wrong car to try and make fast, and take your loss. If you want something you can actually work with, save your money, start parting out your mods on ebay, get your car back to stock, and get what you can for it. Then go buy a GST/X. I thought about doing what you did, and said fuck that. I just want a few basic mods to get it a LITTLE faster and not get smoked by every car on the road. It's unrealistic to expect more from the 420A. If you are going to turbo the RS, get ready for headaches, and the car still won't be worth much more.

Yeah the rs is really slow.. I bought one some years ago for really cheap. It seemed really fast only because the car i had be fore that was a geo metro. but now with this car they don't even come close. If you get the gsx you won't regret it

i remember the days when i had my 91 NT 2.0 Talon(less than a yr ago) and I used to think it was kind of quick until i lost to a saturn sls1 or w/e they are....they have like not much to them..maybe 135 hp and jus figured since a chick was driving it and i could launch and cheat a bit...she still beat me by a cars length if not more...even the power button on the auto couldnt save me lol....finally sold it and got my awd turbo 92 and it felt so good..only cost me 200 bucks out of my pocket too!
i say you sell your RS.....get what you can and even think about a 1g(cuz then you have modding money)..if u dont like the looks then your gonna spend more for a nice 2g..either way...get a turbo model....awd if you can...its a nice feature

i drive a 98gs same 420a,yes its not that fast but on the highway i beat alot of cars(im not talking turbos or anything) but i kept up pretty good with a wrx.im not bullshiting you i swear from a stop it real slow but on the highway my car moves and i can keep up really good with alot of cars,but compared to a turbo your right we have no chance,i will tell you though i did the intake mod wear i too a funnal and cut the end off went to home depot and bought a air duct hose "3 i think zip tied it to the end of the funnal and stuffed the funnal in the front bumper hole and put the other end on my intake,not the best mod but it does force colder air into my intake without relying on the suction of the engine,screw a $200 aem intake.so in general yes its slow,but not all of us want to run 15's or 11's i just want to be able to pass some jackoff that is going mad slow and i can so im good with the 420a i have had it for 2 years and never had a major problem thats pretty good for a 98gs so i like it,im sure i would like the turbo one better but $60 bucks a mounth on insurance is nice so i will stick with mine,ok im done haha bye people,my 2 cents

I keep hoping a new 420a guy on this site, even though we all advise them against it, will make a rocket out of their car. Nitrous, turbo, all motor, I don't care, it would be neat. It's not a cost effective idea. You're better off selling if you're after speed.
Shpyder, you heard right, for the real wrexs. STis are faster, too. Although I don't think you're being serious BTW, new sigs every week, and I have not idea what this one means.

Lol no, I wasnt being sarcastic or anything of the sort! I read bostonjoe's post the wrong way I guess, I thought he was implying all wrexes werent turbo, and since I don't know anything about Subarus, I thought I'd just confirm!

Uh..... there is no 06 turbo model bud. The 263 hp version is the GT model. No turbo model for the 4g.
