please tell me this isnt what all civics w/ aftermarket exhaust sound like

i was out during the day friday and i heard this....bumble bee sound... so i thought its probably sum oldass car, its a riced out civic with sum punk and his girl. it even had a wing on the back. and the car sounded like a cross b/w a loud bumblebee and my 5hp lawn mower, heh it made me wanna cry. i was emmbarrased driving my civic right next to him. wish i had a 240sx to show him up hehe anyways, do all aftermarket exhausts sound so damn gay on your civics?

It all depends on which brand they bought and what mods they have. I have no idea what a stock motor sending exhaust through a stock exhaust manifold then opening up to a catback system, or just a normal exhaust system with a bolted on muffler. I guess that would make the infamous bumblebee sound.
A quality aftermarket intake, header, and exhaust combination would give a better sound.

i wish my 240 was done so i can sell this damn car. than watch out all you civic drivers out there.
But NE way, all civic exhausts sound weird, not like lawn mower but more like a chainsaw or weedwacker.

my ride is quiet almost like stock. I have a dyno max muffler with custom 2 1/4 piping. aww yeah res tip. intake,headers and msd ignition. it looks and sounds stock i wanted it cuz cops like to pull people over. it been almost 4yrs since installed and no wear on it.. soon engine swap.

i actually beat a 240. well... i was winning until he got pulled over and i took the next turn i could and him and police man stopped together.

it wasn't a new one though. and i don't know generations for that car. so i'm going to say it was the gen BEFORE the new one. (i think)

I've heard everything from a exhaust-less Civic to a stock Civic. The exhaust-less Civic sounded like a weed wacker on steroids.

Not all civics sound that way. Maybe you've just heard civics w/ arospeed mufflers There are those rice sounding ones, and the one's that sound real nice, like w/ a greddy cat-back system, or an apex system :finger:

That "bumble bee" or "wet fart" sound is what happens when you :
1. Buy cheap replica mufflers or even a "no name" muffler
2. take away your resonator with a less than 2" diameter piping

unless you got h22 i doubt taht you could hang with my SR20DET powered 240. Even if you do, i still think that i could spank you. just because you beat some 240 doesnt mean that you can beat them all.
