Is This Video of 14R Crashing at Sugo?!?!?!?

Today, my friends and I were going through some vidoes at Ebaumsworld and they had a clip of a Porsche 993 (looked like a GT2) at a race in the wet. It crashed then a car that looked like a McLaren F1 GTR painted in the Lark colors spins out and hits the Porsche and everything catches on fire. According to this website (http://wspr-racing.com/wspr/results/...gtc1996.html#5) the race at Sugo had an accident (which we all know about) that included 14R. But if you see the accident details, a Porsche GT2 was in an accident on the same lap. Does anyone know what the race conditions at Sugo for JGTC were? The video is kind of blurry. Sorry for the long talk, but here's the video! http://www.ebaumsworld.com/carexplode.html

Sorry, but that is an F355 Challenge car that crashes into the 911 GT2 in that video, not a McLaren F1 GTR.

Alright, I found a real picture of the accident. The 61 Lark (14R) hit with the number 30 Porsche as verified by the link in the first post and in this picture with translated text (Alta Vista couldn't traslate all of it).

Thanks, I was really wanting to find a picture of 14R after Peleton25 said that video wasn't. I found a lot more pictures today and I will post them in the other thread.

Just want to clarify that the reason I was certain it was not a McLaren that crashed into the Porsche is because I have seen a longer version of that clip that clearly shows the burning car to be a 355 Challenge. It's very sad actually as the car continues burning for quite sometime with no one there to help and no sign of the driver exiting the vehicle as I recall.

My understanding is that he sued the Circuit as they made no real attempt to help him. Thankfully spilt fuel tanks are VERY rare in motorsport these days.

He did. There is an "aftermath" video. The marshals dragged the guy out and left him in the middle of teh track (seriously) and didn't treat him or anything. Very Very bad safety stuff. He had good reason to sue them.
