How Much $$ Should Labor Be..Rear Pads Replacement..? (i need help fast)

Hey guys, this is something i would do myself if i had the tools for the job, but i don't....and it's gonna be HOT the next couple days, so i'd rather pay the bill.

For one thing, my car is a 95 ford tbird, 4 wheel disc-the front pads/rotors are fine, the rear pads is the problem. The passenger side pads are pretty much in good shape, except for the inner pad-it's tilted, and the edge of the pad is grining on the rotor-making the inside side of the rotor get chewed up. What would the labor be on replacing the rear pads..? I'm guessing it should take no more then 30-45 minutes, AND i would supply the pads.

Autozone has got pads for like $10 bucks, they're Valucraft...believe me, they are cheap, but descent..i worked at autozone for a while and they never got any complaints. Believe it or not, the ceramic ones for like $50 would crack.

I'm guessing in a ball park area of like $80-100 for labor..?!?? Also, i'm thinking if i would get away cheaper by using a regular mechanic (which is right next door to me) instead of a chain like midas or others..

Use a regular mechanic. The cost you say is right if it's pads and rotor machining only. If the rotors need replacing (not a bad idea, unless the rotors look like new, that would be extra.

Also, I am not a big fan of supplying cheap/ordinary parts to a mechanic. If you do, its easy for the mechanic to avoid responsibility if he screws up.
Its better to use the mechanics parts and have him guarentee the whole job.

Also the chain stores tend to (but not always) over-sell parts, that is they suggest replacing more than is absolutely necessary.

Thanks alot man. Yeah i'm gonna ask how much + pads, instead of me getting pads on my own. I'm probably better off doing that because of the guarentee like you said, thanks.
