New Modifications

I have a 2000 WS6 Trans am and i have made some minor improvements like a catback exhaust, air filter and i was just wondering what else i could do to make it perform better. also i was wondering if a hypertech was worth the money or not.

Re: New Modifications

What hypertech part?, they make a couple different parts. Biggest bang for the buck parts for you would be headers or Gears.

Re: New Modifications

Definetly not, they are not worth it. Get yourself a custom burn. There are plenty of great tuner's out there. Such as Bryan from www.pcmforless.com or Ion from www.madz28.com just to name a few and there have actually been people who have dynoed there car before and after programming with hypertechs programmer and saw they lost power.

Re: New Modifications

I am with Formula on the tuning. A good dyno tune would be MUCH more worth it. As long as it is tuned for mods.

Airbox lid, catback (Magnaflow), headers with Y-Pipe, and tune. That should get you around 350 RWHP, give or take. Start looking to get it hooked up, and you are looking at 12's easy. Probably more like a mid 12.

Re: New Modifications

A custom tune is when they program your vehicle to your exact modifications or when they program your "stock" vehicle to deliver more of a performance directed tune rather than a general tune for all around driving conditions.

Re: New Modifications

Depends on where you get it from. I don't know who does tuning on 3.8's but another member I know I am sure does. Here's his profile so you can PM or email him to find out http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...r.php?u=184935

Re: New Modifications

Dyno tune for me would be 450-500 bucks. I would get to 400+ RWHP. Or at least be VERY close.
