Stock rims?

I know this may sound like a stupip qustion but how many of you 5th gen owners ride on stock rims? I had a look on HondaPrelude.com and saw that most 5th gen owners still ride on their stock rims so is this out of a special reason or just because new rims cost a lot or anything like that.
Personally I like the stock wheels (base) too but I really donīt like that they are looking so small and tiny when looking at the rear. So does anybody has got any good reasons to keep the stock rims? Or an idea how I could make it look better without buying new rims? I just need anything to feel better about it. You know, itīs kind of `inī over here to have wide and big rims and wide tires so...

well some people keep stock rims for drag racing. it'll help you pull harder than a larger 17 or 18 inch rim. some keep them for winter driving. but i agree with you. they look too small.

So what was your solution for this problem? Or what would be the solution in general? Buy some (for example) BBS RC or RK in 16x7 or 16x7,5 and put some 215/50 tires on them? Okay, they would be a bit wider but they also would be about 4lbs lighter than my stock rims. We donīt get Mugen, Spoon, Volk,....rims over here. I mean we could get them but they would cost us an arm and a leg. And Iīll keep my engine stock (except the Type-S intake and a K&N drop-in filter) so I canīt compensate the "powerloss" this way.
Thanx in advance.

i have 16x7's on my ride, up from the stock 16x6.5's.

the stock rims are quite light, as i found out when i stripped the rubber off of them. now i just use them for racing, with R compound tyres on them.

What do you think about Lenso VPD in 16x7 on a black Prelude without any bodykit? I canīt imagine it... Does anybody know the price of these wheels?

the base wheels look great on ludes without a body kit and just front lip. its the tires that make them look like sedan wheels.

personally, i use 17's because i have the factory body kit...if i were to have left it stock with just a lip, i would've just used the stock wheels.

I ride on my stock SH rims...cause no company really makes a nice looking 16 inch rim...I want to stay with the mfg 16 inch wheel and most companys focus on 17's and up....if they do make a 16 ...it is either a 5-star...which is what I have or it is 2 heavy!!!

I keep my stock 16s because i am going to use up my tires a little more to get something out of them even though there isnt very much to be gotten out of them because stock tires suck. Also i dont have the money for new wheels and tires and i am saving to get 18in white motegi MR7s. But i have to agree with all of you that they do look small on the back.

Personal experience-I have my stock rims in storage and will use them at car shows only. Got myself a set of AR Carrera rims for both road and track. They are 16x7 +42 with Stock size rubber for now. Running on Pirelli P8000 (NTB) and Bridgestone RE730 (track). I wanted to stay as close to stock as possible regardless of brand or style. Our roads here can be really terrible. Get what you like and enjoy.
The stock rims will cost you up to $500 to have them professionally repaired and refinished-mine are as new as you can get them.
For those wanting to see how they look-check my setup page (the car is dropped)-The Motegi MR12 is the same wheel-different finish.
