Question What does this dash light mean??

I have a 1993 Mitsubishi Pajero with a 2.5 L. turbo-charged diesel that was purchased in Germany. I now have ethe car in Egypt where I teach at an international school.

A year ago I put a newer engine in it. Now there is a dash light that goes on and off intermittently. The icon is orange when it goes on. It looks like a little Aladdin's lamp with a small drop of something coming out of the spout. Underneath the "lamp" is what appears to be the symbol for water (a little wavy line like you used to draw water when you were in first grade). The icon is located in the lower right hand corner underneath the the tach. The owners manual does not even list this icon. My mechanic doesn't know what it means, but thinks we should just disconnect it. He says that whatever sensor it is must be incompatible with my car (since the engine is newer).

Does anyone know what this may be indicating? It's driving me nuts!
