Exhaust Manifold Gasket
91 Turbo
I have a new gasket and studs to replace my leaking gasket. Can anyone point me to some straightforward instructions or procedures for replacing it? Maybe some tips on any problems you ran into? I think you have to use lock tight on the studs themselves. |

Re: Exhaust Manifold Gasket
After you install the gasket run your engine until it warms up, let it cool off the re torque the bolt. Do this like 3 times. then it should not leak anymore.

Thanks for the tip!
I installed the studs and now the MR2 is much quiter and doesnt backfire. But I still have other problems. There is not much power and the turbo seems to spool up very quickly with very little gas peddle. It didnot do this before I took it to the Toyota dealership. There are no codes. |

Re: Exhaust Manifold Gasket
so on your boost gauge it still registers about 12 pounds? But there is no get up when you put your foot into it?
