Opinions on my system..?

here are the specs to my system.. i'm really happy with it, especialy with my front and rears being powered by the HU.. next up is mobile video as soon as sparq can hook me up

HU: Pioneer 8400MP

(not my actual unit but i couldn't find another pic of it)
Fronts: Audiobahn AS65C 3 ways (carbon fiber cone, rubber surround, 18oz magnet, 1.25 midrange, .75 tweeter 120watts rms)

Rears: Audiobahn AS69C 3 ways (same as above but 6x9, 200 watts rms, and 40 oz magnet)

Sub: Audiobahn ALUM15X (1100rms)

Amp: Lanzar 1200D @ 3ohms (about 700-750 rms)

Cap: Monster Cap with Digital Display
Wiring: 4 AWG RF (Audiobahn Patch cables)

entire trunk is extreme dynamatted including the floor, as well as the rear deck and license plate area.

i used to have pics but MSN decided to delete them.. oh well.. i haven't metered it yet but i think it would hit pretty hard. it sounds nice, i know that just wonderin what you all think thanks!

Looks like a good system. Kinda hard to give an opinion without hearing it....:o
How do those audiobahn 3-ways sound?
One more question, did you run everything w/o a cap and then put the cap in? Just wondering how much of a difference it would make.

The general rule of thumb is 1 farad for every 1000 watts -- however most people do not understand the whole concept of power, and that you NEED power in order to run your system, and well how does a system get its power? Alternator & battery... I see so many people that sit there thinking they can run their boomin ass system off their one battery under the hood with the car off -- then wonder why they fried everything

thanks, hehe

the audiobahns sound pretty nice, especially for the money.. they aren't the best i've heard, but most certainly not the worst! considering i paid $40 for the 6.5s and $55 for the 6x9s, i'm extremely happy with them

as far as the cap goes, i didn't have one at first but my amp would cut out occaisionaly usually at very high volumes and sometimes if my car is sitting and the bass hits the idle would get a lil funky, but my lights never dimmed.. with the cap the idle is better and my amp cuts out less often but it didn't completely fix the problem.. there may be a problem with my amp, i'm not sure.. it just cuts over to protection sometimes at high volumes.

btw, the lil digital readout is pretty cool i work at best buy and we just got em in.. we sell em for $200, we get em employee priced at $81!! damn we rip people off soo bad :o

looks like it's pretty sweet, and a cap makes more of a difference to the rest of your car than the system, it makes it so the lights dont dim when the subs hit, and it helps keep stress off the battery and alternator, though it does make actual hits (not notes) clearer and a tad bit stronger

It needs extra power to charge that cap back up *IF* you get your car started. That has to put a huge strain on the alternator and battery.

I was just curious if it made any noticable difference.

the alum15x is awesome! it sounds like shit with the trunk open cuz its in a ported box, but with the trunk closed it pounds! higher frequencies sound kinda funky too with the trunk open but perfect in the cabin

i am going to get 2 alum12x and a 2000 watt audiobahn amp. do i need to buy a capacitor to help run the system so it doesnt cut off. also so i dont depend on my battery to do all the work.

Your amp is still gonna depend on the battery and alternator to get the power. All a cap does is give the extra power for a heavy bass note *only when its needed*.

so the capacitors are not worth the money. no matter what the amp will always rely on the bat. and alt. for its power?

according to my owners manual:

minimum sealed: .9
max sealed: 1.4
20% polyfill

i'm running a 2.66 ported and i think i'm losing spl because of it
