Washer Fluid Tank

Hi out there! I have about half of my 87 944S torn apart trying to get the windshield washer fluid tank out of the car. I replaced the pump today since it wasn't working and while working on getting that going noticed that my reservoir tank has a big leak in the bottom of it plus it has a bunch of crud that needs to be cleaned out before I put the system in service.

Anybody know how to get the blasted tank out of the car so I can fix the leak? It's obviously more complicated than unbolting it and lifting it out. I've removed every mounting screw/bolt that I can find and can move the tank around in the car so I know I have all of the mounting hardware removed, but I haven't been able to get the thing out - eith from the top or the bottom. Looking at the design of the tank and how it was secured, I feel like it was installed from the bottom, but I can't get it out that way either. I even removed the pop up headlight motor to give myself more room but no luck.

I am sure there has got to be an easier way to get this thing out. Can anybody help me out on this one? It would be greatly appreciated!
