B2600 Vacuum removal
Just bought myself a 88 Mazda b2600 and i want to get rid of all the Vacuum hoses i can , the engine is on its last legs and i just want to keep things simple under there .. seems no-one has done this before so anyone know how i should start this little task? Or once i have torn all the vacuum out, what parts do i need to reconect to the engine Vacuum supply... if any. I count about 14?!? empty vacuum ports and around 8 of them are on the carb alone. Which do i need to hook up ? and which get blocked ... and then where do i hook them ? Anyone have a link... or done this so i can pick your brains.... thanks in advance!

Follow up to my first question , i have pulled all the vacuum out , blocked all the exhaust ports , removed the EGR and made my own Blockoff plate , i still have about 10 - 12 vacuum ports left 4 of which are on the intake manifold and easyly ignored ( blocked ) but my carb is the one i need to know where to port anything ... if at all. Or should i run hoses back to other ports on the carb... As well as the vac advance on the distributor... where should i hook that one too ? Its moving along , but still need to tie up these loose.... ends =)

Couldnt find a satisfactory way to do this , so i retro fit a straight six carb off an old ford... worked like a charm , and install time was about 1 hour.... now to fix that coolant leak and i have a great 4x4 again =)

 This was what you would have seen before..... And here is the after  Anyone need a 88 2.6 Carb with tons of Emissions junk on it , let me know , ill see what i can do for you =)

nice work
wollf, what about aircare?- I have a B2200, would only run with gas pedal to floor, went to Lordco, got carb rebuilt, now does not run at all, I need someone with a B2200- 89-91 with 2 bbl carb, to see where all the vacuum hoses went. Also am looking a carb, or replacement option. what are your thoughts

Wollf, I missed a word should have read got Carb rebuild KIT from Lordco, one of the Niehofff all in a box. Anyways you are lucky not to have to mess with Aircare, I had a 1947 Chevy 5 window, and you still have to take it to aircare. Except the joke was I had put in a 350 engine out of a 1979 Suburban, and just lied telling Aircare it was all original just to get a pass.

Easy to load a tank up with methal too , it burns clean but your car might sound a little rough , but you will pass air care easy that way =)

Actually i just finished the last touches on this carb , i had to use the old throttle connector from my old carb and with very little modding my new throttle linkage is up and working great. Chopped a hole in the hood to make room for the added height , and got a hood scoop to keep the weather out and this truck is almost ready for the road.
As to the new weber , all you really need to compare are the base baskets to see if they will line up. Then look at the way the throttle linkages sit and make sure they can be hooked up. Luckily the stock mazda cable is VERY long , and you can redirect it almost any way with little work.
