smokey brakes?
i onno if it's just the fact they are new but.... i put new rotors and pads on my car today... they feel fine.... look fine... STOP fine.... but they smoke... and after a long hard stop they stick a little but then go back to normal. any way is the smoke expected with new pads and rotors or is there something i should be warned about. btw it's an 88 cutlass with a 3.8 and the smoke comes from both sides.

Did you clean the rotors before installing them? Most new rotors have a oily coating on them for protection when new. If you didn't lube the caliper sliders when you reinstalled them they might be hanging up. |

Re: smokey brakes?
i think they might be hanging up, because if i press hard on the brakes. they stick for like 3 seconds after i accelerate. what do you mean the caliper sliders?

Re: smokey brakes?
I really think its the new pads and rotors, i got new rotors and ceramic pads on all 4 wheels of my cutlass supreme, and they all smoked for about 3 days! it smelled bad also, isnce the rotors have some sort of oilly surface
