Question Problems with take off

My car cuts out after i stop at a light, it has only did it after i drove hard either to race or pass someone. What it does is after i try to take off from the light, the battery and low oil pressure lights come on, the steering wheel locks up, and the car won't pick up speed. Then after i pull over and cut the car off and back on, it acts perfect.

I have a 1999 Grand Prix GT, with 100,000 miles.

Cool Re: Problems with take off

I had this same problem on 2 other vehicles. The crankshaft position sensor was bad in both vehicles and by replacing it in both vehicles, it made both vehicles run great! It controls the computer: fuel, air, electrical, etc.
It costs approximately $35.00 from Autozone in our local area, but I would suggest for you to get it from a Pontiac Dealer. This is a part you do not want to go out, because you will be stranded until it is replaced.
