Lebaron RX / TX connector

Hey everyone, I've been having some problems with my 86 Leraon 2.2 Turbok and I suspect it is something with the Power Module (Spark Control). I've noticed that there is a connector which carries RX and TX signals, and I was wondering if there is any way to interface this to a standard COM port on my computers, and if there is any software availible that will let me run diagnostics.

I have FreeScan, but that seems to only work with the GM models, but maybe I will try that too.

If you have any information, please let me know.

Now the problems ifself. (this may get long)
One day, I started getting problems with the car stalling. We traced it back to a lack of spark. A change of the capacitor that sits by the ignition coil seemed to fix the problem.

Now, the same problem started again. Changing the capacitor, ignition coil, distributor, and hall sensors did not help. The code that was generated first, was a 54 (Synch sensor failure) Now that code has disapeared and replaced by a 43 (Ignition components mulfunction). At this point, we tried replacing the Logic module and Power modules multiple time, and nothing seems to work.

All of the wiring was checked and seems to be in good shape.
Keep in mind, that all of the parts did come from the junkyard, so there is a chance we got 3 bad sets of parts, but it seems unlikely.

Again, if you have any idea what might be wrong, please let me know.
Any info is welcome.

Thanks.

For anyone who may have the same problem.

After checking everything, and completely by accident (like all great discoveries) we found the problem. One of the wires from the MAP sensor to the logic module has become loose. This wire is actually inside the logic module casing so the only reason we found it is by running the thing without its case.

Soldered a new wire on, and haven't had a problem since.
