GM Parts Rant

The first thing that ticked me off with GM parts, was when I went and bought a latch assembly for my cutty, paid about 20 bucks for it, and after waiting forever, got the dinky plastic knob that goes IN the assembly. But hey, everybody makes mistakes...

The schrader valve on the same car busted so I went and called the GM dealer here in McKinney. I was told that it would be 33 dollars because they could only sell it in a kit. Thought; fine, as long as it fixes a fuel leak it's worth it. Went down there and the guy TURNS his monitor away, and does his best to rip me for 10 bucks more for this dinky little valve.

Anybody else have trouble with GM parts?

Re: GM Parts Rant

I read that GM is doing everything possible to cut money out of their service work and the dealers are bearing the worst of it, so the customers get what they get depending on who/where they are and what the repair consists of. Lot of unhappy GM owners seems like these days. Maybe the cheap pricing gimmicks will overcome the shortcomings on the back side of the salesroom wall.
