95 Accord 4 cyl misfiring problems?
May be someone experienced the same problem on 95 Accord LX Auto.
I am slowly starting to loose my faith in Hondas by the way too bad, cause I still like them. All of a sudden after the “fuel injection cleaning” at the local shop car started to shatter and lost power, about the same time engine light came on. I’ve taken it to my other shop that usually does my maintenance (and always tells me that cleaning my fuel injection system as a bunch of crap) they let me hear what I deserved and told me that based on the codes they pulled from the computer, I needed the igniter and the EGR valve. When they replaced both things car started to run smoother, but driving about a mile down the road I got the same symptoms (this time without the engine light on). When I took my Accord back to the shop they tested it and said #1 & #2 cylinders are not working, so they replaced spark plug wires, rotor, cap and switched #4 and #1 injectors to see if that is the cause. Car again stared to run smoother and I picked it up yesterday, to drive another couple of miles and see same symptoms! I think my mechanic is stumbled and so am I. What could it be? Thanks for all your suggestions.

symptoms
Well, it lost power, "again" and when they take out spark plug and/or injector from #1 or #2 cylinder it's wet. When they take out/remove spark plug wire on the idling engine from #3 & #4 cylinder you can see that engine almost dies but if you do the same thing on # 1 & #2 almost no change.
Thanks, |

I think you have a compression seal leak between the two cylinders in the head gasket.

I'd agree with that if it wouldn't be that they checked the compression and it's fine... Any other ideas?
Thanks! |
