Balance shafts??
hi all i am rebuilding my chrysler 2.5 litre engine, when i pulled it apart i found that the chain that drives the balance shafts is broke. and the housing that holds them is also broken. talking to a guy at Oreillys auto parts he says that he thinks i can put the engine back together without them. anyone have any thoughts on this? will this hurt anything??
Thanx everyone!!! |

Yes you can, you have to take the balance assembly out and then plug the oil passages that are left open. The most reliable way is to tread them and put in bolts with lok-tite on them. The Datokas that had the 2.5 liter had this setup.
