Exclamation Limited Ed. 2002 Camaro

Just talked to a guy at the Chevy dealer, and you guys oughta love this. No one is supposed to know right now, but Chevy is making 49 Special Edition Camaros.... with the Z06 drivetrain!!! This particular dealership is supposed to be getting 2 of the 49 (they are already trying to sell one to Jay Leno). But we can't afford 'em... $80-$90,000 price range. Chevy is keeping this very hush-hush right now, but wtf, you guys are like family to them, right? :smoker2:

The only difference is a Z06 drivetrain? NOT WORTH IT. That's a load of crap, selling between $80k-90k. Why not get a Z06 and mod it with the extra 30-40 grand? I'd say that guy has you by the nuts, man. I don't think it would matter how much of a collector edition it is, no one will buy it.

I'm not saying that I'm being told the truth man... just reporting what I heard. If it's not true, I won't be too surprised, but I would love to drive one.....

Dealers don't know shit.
I don't believe it.
It would be great if they actually DID, but I don't think I coudl justify spending $80-90k on a "special" Camaro.

I have heard other un-confirmed rumors of the same....... IF it does happen people will buy them, the RARE number is what will make them be worth that much $$$$

Nothing but rumors. Until that "special edition" Camaro hits the show room floor, you don't know what to expect of it. And it doesn't matter how rare the Camaro is, people are not going to buy it for that price range, when they can build the same machine or better one for a fraction of that price. The only cars that can go for that kind of cash are classic hot rods that are in immaculate condition (i.e. An original gold Yenko 427 Camaro- only 20 were built in gold, fewer than that still exist).

I'll give you that is just rumors ..at this time......

But.. If it is built Collectors with money will buy them and they will be worth as much if not more, in the near and distant future.

RARE = Collectable and lots of $

The fact that you can build a car to be faster does not even come into play. The only thing that matters to those who will buy them is that there are so few of them made.

The question is, Rare to whom? People that have enough money to garage high priced sports cars should spend it somewhere else. Let the people that love to drive the cars, get their money out of them, and enjoy them. Sports cars are meant to be driven hard and fast. With that in mind, those cars will be archived with GM's special stash of cars, they won't make it off the showroom floor.

Just found out what REALLY is happening.
GM or SLP or whomever, has decided to build 69 "ZL1" Camaros.
They plan on taking the stock LS6 Engine/Trans and dropping 69 of them into 69 Camaro's, and badging them as "ZL1's"
If you ask me, I don't think they should ruin the nostalga of the "ZL1" name, however I am glad they're only building 69 of them (just like back in 1969)

I've heard base price will start around $60k.

Blackbird,
Do you think it is going to be done by GMMG, the same company that did the Intimidator SS, as well as a host of other F-body designs?
