What do you think is faster?

What do you think is faster with no mods a SVT Contour or a SVT Focus?

Re: What do you think is faster?

Just use Google. I'd put my money on the Contour in the straight line, but the Focus in anything involving turns.

Heres the response from a guy from the contour forums who has owned both a FSVT and CSVT.

A CSVT is considerbaly faster. The CSVT handles better than the FSVT stock for stock. Top end is no comparision, a stock CSVT will walk a stock FSVT anytime. However, the FSVT is easier to launch and can keep pace with a stock CSVT's 0-60 for the most part. FSVTs are WAAAAAY easier and cheaper to mod for HP. A few bolt-on's plus a tune and you'll be running with a stock CSVT for well under a grand. The FSVT, being a hatchback, naturally has a higher center of gravity, therefore, it will always be out handled by a CSVT even if both were modded equally. However, due to weight considerations, like others said, the FSVT will pull it's own weight so to speak. The steering feel and response is better on the FSVT as well in addition to the braking. All in all, if the CSVT had some of the creature comforts and fit and finish of the FSVT, it would be a perfect car. But that's expected since the Contour line was so dated when the FSVT came out. If I woulda had it my way I would still own my CSVT, the FSVT, the MSP, and my bike, but we can't have our cake and eat it to.
