I am haveing problems with stalling at normal driveing speeds 65-70MPH the thing will just die no warning as if someone is turning the key off let it sit 15-20MIN start it up get to 30 MPH dies dose this 5-6 times smooths out runs ok. It is starting to do it more often now.I put a new fuel pump on it 2 yrs ago just replaced the fuel filter yesterday (on the side of the road Thank god for quick conect hoses) Now it seems to have little power I have to feather the gas pedal to get it back up to 55-60 MPH and it is now missing out. Any help would be great.

How old are your spark plugs?

Plugs and wires are two years old changed them with the fuel pump

I just checked my fuel pressure and it is showing 22.5 with key on and engine off and 28.0 with engine on dose any onye have the specs for what the pressure should be?

I'm thinking it should be about 49 psi... Might want to double check for leaks.

Yeah, that's kinda low, check your fuel pressure regulator, or your injectors, one of them could be bad/leaking.

I checked the injectors and regulator for leaks and there were no leaks I allso followed the lines from the engine to the tank no leaks there could that pump be bad allready? If so any recomandations on a good pump to replace it with I really do not want to drop this tank every 2 years if I could help it!!!

Ok this is what I have now I can be going down the road 65 to 70 MPH runs fine till I floor it then it dies and won't start for abought 30 min start it up go abought 30 mph then dies let it cool all the way down good to go till I hit the gas then dies fuel pressure stays at 28 psi even if I take the vacum hose off the fuel pressure regulator.Could the regulator be my problem?

Key on engine off, your fuel system pressure, according to Haynes reference manual, should be somewhere between 40-47 psi. A quick check for your pressure regulator (quick and (ugg) dirty), remove the other end of the vacuum hose to your pressure regulator (leave the regulator end connected), and give it a suck (I know, sounds gross) - If any fuel comes through, it means the internal diaphragm has failed on the pressure regulator.

I've gotta admit though, it sounds like your prob. may be more than just fuel related... (is your check engine light on?)

NO the check engine light is not on I allso checked for codes and there where no codes.

Ok I had a new fuel pump installed 2 days ago first day it seemed my problems were over then today I was on my way home when I tried to pass a car I got up to 70 MPH it spit and sputtered then died It sit in front of my house a hour and a half would not even fire I sprayed some starter fluid in it and it started abought 5 seconds died I hit the key again and it started and I was able to get it in my drive now it is running kind of rough any ideas as to what my problem could be?

If you are loosing spark now could be CPS.

Check your MAF out as well. Is your TCC locking/unlocking?

Anyways to answer your fuel pump ? if you use knock off brand instead of AC delco fuel pumps or sending units you will be replacing them every year or two. Ac delco knows that that is why they charge so much lol.

Replace the fuel pressure regulator and put in a new fuel pump relay. It appears that the new fuel pump is not pumping. The new pump may have caused the relay to fail, also check all connections to the fuel pump.

The first step is to diagose whether car is missing spark or fuel then respond adequetly.
