Catalytic Converter Warranty??
I've been checking pricing and warranties on different Cat. Convertors.
All of the after market el-cheap-o crap ot there carries a 5 year 50,000 mile warranty. The OEM version (quite Expensive) im told by the Chevrolet Dealer carries only a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty. The Federal Clean Air Act states that "ALL" manufactures of Catylitic Convertors must meet the same guidelines of 5 / 50,000 warranty. Who is right ? The dealer or the Fed Clean Air act. Is GM somehow exempt from Federal standards or is the parts guy just full of crap and doesn't know what the heck he is talking about? |
