electrical prob 2001 PT

Just wondering if anyone has any info, went to start my PT, emergency flashers were on, turned key and system shut down completely. When I turn the key off all the gauges pulse, and the battery seems dead even though it is not. System goes on and off at random intervals, emergency signal make buzzing noise and then electrical system shuts down completely. All fuses work, and when the system does come on everything works but starter won't turn over. Any help would be appreciated.

There was a recall issued for some '01 and early '02 cars regarding a software glitch in the chip that runs the intrument panel. The dealer can re-flash the memory in the chip with a corrected program. Contact your nearest dealer service department ASAP. It's possible that your car is affected, but it never got the fix done. Even if the car's out of warranty, they should perform the recall service for free.
