AC blows out of the defrost vents
I recharged the air conditioning system in my 95 century. It works good, only problem is that whenever I'm on the gas the air blows out of the vents for the winshield defrost. If I let up on the gas the air will blow out of the dash vents like is should. Any suggestions?

Re: AC blows out of the defrost vents
The valve that controls where the airflow goes is vacuum controlled and is probably going bad. When you accelerate it is not holding the vents in the proper position and when the vacuum increases they go back to the designated position. I would replace the vent control and should eliminate the problem. (It is located under the dash)

Thanks. This site's been a big help in getting that car in tip top shape. I'll give it a try and see what happens

Hey GTP Dad, could you be a little more specific? I've got a '94 Cutlass with the same problem. I've replaced all the rubber "T"'s and vacuum lines under the hood as well as the check valve just before it comes into the cabin. Under the dash nearly nothing is visible due to the way the car is built.
