Formula 350 vs Mustang GT

I was on my lunch break today, on my way back from picking up my alternator for the 3S, making sure I was doing the speed limit because I had just got a speeding ticket on the same road yesterday (damn radar detector is in the other car). When low and behold a pretty nice looking Mustang pulls in front of me, looked to be a 97-98 with at least exhaust. Instantly I knew i'd end up next to him at a light so when I stopped at the next red and he came up next to me revving I wasn't surprised.

I look over, he had his g/f with him, so I was like "wanna go"? He's like "yeah!" then i'm like "aight then, lets go!".

The light turns green, we both peel out, through first I have a nose on him, shift to second and he drops to the back of my door and keeps falling. And just when I think i'm gonna really pull way away, BAM, a big ass truck pulls out in front of me, and a car in front of him. No I didn't hit the truck but I figured the BAM would add some excitement. I slam the brakes (horrible pull to the right, need calipers) and he swerves to the middle lane and goes around the car. I have nowhere to go, so oh well race over.

I get around the truck pull up next to him, he's like "sorry bout that back there", i'm like "ehh what are ya gonna do?". We gave each other peace (sounds so gay saying it but it's cooler than thumbs up in real life lol) and went our seperate ways. So i'm callin it a kill since I pulled on him to about 65 mph. Not too bad for a 17 yr old car w/ almost 130k.

Cliff Notes:

- Raced a 97-98 GT from a stop to about 65, pulling on him whole way to about a car length, traffic pulls in front of us, race over. Just had a speeding ticket on the same road the day before.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: Formula 350 vs Mustang GT

Thanks, yea it's rare that I race on the street just cuz traffic and cops, usually find a business road at night or something of the like....but couldn't turn down a GT.

Re: Formula 350 vs Mustang GT

Its too bad the 96-98 GTs were so choked off, I don't think that car had a chance against you anyway even if there weren't cars pulling in front of both of you.

Thanks, yea I know those 96-98 GT's were weak compared to the other years, i've raced a '02 GT from a roll and stayed even, that was a while ago when my car was running like crap cuz i needed plugs, ran great for that race for some reason though.
