4th Gen - Comfort Compared to 3rd Gen

I know the 3rd gen camaro is pretty big on the inside but the car its self was bigger, since the 4th gen cars are smaller how much space was taken from the driver and front passenger area? im 6'1'' and on bigger side... lol, anyone own or driven both of these generations that can help compare these?

thanks

Never been in a 4th gen, but i'd have to say 3rd gens are comfortable. Spacey and enough leg room up front, i'm 6'0" exactly, so not that far from you. The only drawback is the back seats, they really are only for kids 8 and under, grown ass people back there is a no no.

Re: 4th Gen - Comfort Compared to 3rd Gen

i have never had any complaints about my back seats, hell ive even been told that they are more comforateable than the front seats of someone elses car. Im around 5'9" or 5'10" depending on the day, and i like the room in a third gen. Personally i like the wide open design of the older cars. Thats one of the reasons i dont like my moms infiniti and my dads taurus, is that they have that organic, wrap around you design that makes me feel claustraphobic. i like the big wide open feel of my third gen.

i used to have a third gen camaro, but now i have a 4th gen, and my brother has a third gen camaro as well as my parents having a 4th gen trans am.

Personally i think the third gen is better for dailly driving... my 4th gen has great leather seats and all but they have rips so i put a seat cover on them and it has little cussions on the sides, right where those seats have the sides at, so if i sit down my head sometimes hits the roof.

for performance oriented driving i think the 4th gen is much better, the seats can handle more g forces before it starts throwing you off, and you are at a better angle for the steering wheel and just the right distance.

Other than that it depends on what seats/upolstery the car you get has. My brother thinks leather is horrible so he likes his cloth seats, but i like the feeling of healthy leather but it is different to everyone.

O - and the 4th gen does have less leg room, but it is all you need because the way the pedals and that whole area is designed.

if your like 89IROC&RS then you will probobly not like the 4th gen, but then again, 4th gens actually come with cup holders...

sorry this is so long...

Re: 4th Gen - Comfort Compared to 3rd Gen

so in a 4th gen even tho im pretty tall i can/ should be able to get the clutch in & and out and go & stop with out having to bring my knee all the way upto my chin to get my foot on the pedals right?

EDIT: Wrap around is good, i think its cool

they way it is setup, with my foot on the pedal(auto) my knee is about 1 inch away from the dash, it seems to be setup perfectly so that when i pull my knee up it is still about 1 inch from hitting anything.

so you shouldnt ever have problems with pedals, and my problem with hitting my head on the roof is because of the seat covers and the convertable top...

a 4th gen should be fine for you then, plus you get the extra performance of the lt1/ls1

Re: 4th Gen - Comfort Compared to 3rd Gen

3rd gen are all good in the comfort except if your sitting in the back no room back there but if its your car your driving and who cares about the backsit unless some sexy ladies are back there there pretty much the only ones that can fit back there anyways

Re: 4th Gen - Comfort Compared to 3rd Gen

My friends over 6 foot and the only problem is getting in and out. It almost feels like your sitting in a hole....lol.
But no complaints here, I love my third gen.

Re: 4th Gen - Comfort Compared to 3rd Gen

well, im in the process of putting the black one, the RS back together. As far as how much i want for it, its gonna depend on what kinda shape its in when i put it all back together. right now im looking at around 1500 bucks with some body damage.
