2000 Windstar 3.8L Air Cond
Experts,
Im still looking for any recommendations on my air cond problem. A/C is cold but load on engine seems a little more than expected and it seems to cause the shifting to be a little slower. I get a "Whhiirrr" sound (not grinding) while accelerating. Has anybody had this type of problem. A/C has been properly charged recently. Any and all suggestions are appreciated. |

Don't know about the additional load problem, but my 2000 with the 3.8 also produces the sound that you describe. The on-board computer is supposed to adjust the rpm to compensate for the compressor load each time it cycles on and off.
