Re: no acceleration when hot

Hmmmnn, I need a little more information like did this problem just happen suddenly or did it happen over a period of time. Does the engine idle okay or is it missing and so on. Make sure you don't have a blocked exhaust. It could be blocked form the catalytic converter back or someplace else. Hope this helps.

Ya... describe what happens when you go uphill... does the engine wimp out and die? Does it race but just not go anywhere?
Does the car drive fine on the highway, and at all other times on level ground?

Uphill wimps out to 5 MPH....on level road can increase the
speed as long as I do not accelerate..if so will decrease speed and die down
seems like a plugged fuel filter problem sympton...shifts gears at
the right range ..just cannot depress the gas pedal or it will die down..
can the tranny bands slip intermittently?? if I shut down for 10 minutes
then go it will ragain power but will still die if I give it too much gas

??????????????

EGR valve?

Did you try the EGR valve?
I had one stick once and the car ran like garbage.
They can stick open or closed and really mess up the air intake process. You will get sympotms similar to a vacuum leak- but if you look all the vacuum hoses and whatnot are connected.
Maybe try that. It could be the valve itself- or one of the electrical components that regulates it (depends on what year your car is).
Hope I helped a little...

happening around 40/50 MPH range..step on gas and it would
do nothing ...back off on gas and it would gradually pick up

If you have a good fuel filter then I'd suspect a clogged vent line. Next time it does this try taking off the fuel cap. See if there is a big sucking sound. You know, like Washington, DC makes
